Custom Photography Mentoring (One-on-One)
When I first started my photography business in college, I was like a wet noodle just slipping and sliding my way through. I had no serious help or direction. The only two constants I knew was that I was drawn to entrepreneurship and I realllly loved taking pictures. That's it!
Fast forward 5 years later, it turns out that I'm not so bad at this photography business thing. After graduating with my bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship, I relentlessly pursued photography full time with no other jobs or 'side hustles.' Of course, I've experienced some hiccups like many new photographers and business owners, but I'm so grateful that I stuck with it!
My ultimate goal with photography mentoring is to pay it forward. I want to share the tips and tricks that I learned on my personal journey that may help some others.
During our mentoring sessions, I'm an open book. You can pick my brain and ask me anything. We can cover everything from building confidence to super technical editing questions! :) Up to you. Examples of topics covered.
Photographer Mindset:
- Being authentic and finding your own personal style.
- Releasing photographer envy ("Ugh, I wish I was as good as ____").
- Learning patience with yourself and your craft.
- Believing in your bigger picture and remembering your "why?"
My shooting style:
- The equipment that works for me.
- Shooting on manual mode (understanding iso, shutter, aperture, etc). No more auto! :)
- How to get clients to relax in front of the camera. (Includes my list of corny jokes)
- Lighting and choosing locations. (natural light photography)
- Shooting events with confidence.
Post Processing/Editing:
- How I edit my images. (Lightroom and some photoshop)
- Organizational tips for Lightroom and your hard drive.
- How to batch edit event photos in Lightroom.
Business Practices:
- Price your work with confidence.
- Client communication and managing expectations.
- Dealing with difficult client situations.
- Identifying your ideal client and learning how to say "no, thank you."
- Social media and promotion.

45 minute mini session (in person or via Skype) - $125

2 hour session (in-person or via Skype) - $300
2 hours to discuss any aspect of business or technique you’d like to cover. Includes pre and post-session access to me by email with any additional questions.
Half-day session (in-person) - $600
5 hours to discuss any aspect of business or technique you’d like to cover. Includes pre and post-session access to me by email with any additional questions.
Shooting time with a live model to practice skills like lighting, composition, and posing. These images may be used in your portfolio.
Lunch (on me!)
Includes head shots (photographed by me) to use in your marketing materials or online.
